Atilim University Library provides service to the users out of the university as well as Atilim University members.
I am not a member of Atilim University. How can I benefit from your library? Am I allowed to visit?
Atilim University Library provides service to the users coming out of the university; however, most of these users are not allowed to borrow materials. Users may photocopy library materials within the scope of copyrights as an option.
How can I enroll in Atilim University Library?
You can enroll in the library by applying to the librarians at information/circulation desk with your Atilim University ID.

How can I learn working days and hours of the library?
Atilim University Library is open between 9.00am and 10.00pm during academic period and between 10.00am and 8.00pm at the weekends (Saturday - Sunday). The library is available between 9.00am and 6.00pm during summer period and closed at the weekends.

Who can borrow books from the library?
Every member of Atilim University Library can borrow books from the library.
How can I borrow library sources?
Atilim University members are required to show their Atilim University ID card to borrow materials from the library. It is forbidden to borrow a book for another user.
How many books can I borrow per month?
Academic staff are allowed to borrow 15 books per months from Atilim University Library, students and administrative staff 10. (As sources are returned in relevant month, new sources can be borrowed)
Do users receive reminder / warning messages for borrowed books?
Your e-mail information is requested when you enroll in the library. You should assure that your information is correct and current as reminder and warning e-mails are sent to your e-mail address.
How can I learn due dates of my borrowed books?
You can learn due dates of your borrowed books through your library account
How can I extend the due date of the source I borrowed?
You can extend the due date of the source you borrowed through your library account.
Am I required to deliver the source to the library to extend its due date?
You can extend the due date of your borrowed book (except for reserve books) through your library account without coming to the library personally.
Can I borrow a source or extend the due date of a book on behalf of another person?
You cannot do any transaction on behalf of any other user.
What is the penal policy of the library for delayed sources?
The fine for delayed books is 25 kurus per day.
What should I do if I lose a borrowed book?
In case of the loss of a source, users are required to submit the same or newer edition of the lost source. If the lost source cannot be found in the market, the user is requested to provide a book of equivalent value among “buy list” prepared by our library.
Can I reserve a borrowed book?
You can reserve any book (except reserve collection books) you want through your library account.
How can I learn my username and password for the library account?
 Your library account is created when you enroll in Atilim University Library. You can consult with information/circulation desk librarians for any problem.

You can access your library account by entering your username and password information top right of the screen after clicking catalog search link on web page of Atilim University Library.
What can I do with my library account?
1. You can reserve the books borrowed by other users.
2. You can display the books you reserved.
3. You can display the books you borrowed.
4. You can display due dates of the books you borrowed.
5. You can extend dates of the books you borrowed.
How can I make catalog search?
You can access OPAC through catalog search link on the web page of Atilim University Library.
You can make catalog search through catalog search tab.
You may use subject and free search options by determining relevant keywords.
Additionally, it is possible to make a search with author, book, and publisher information.
How can I find the location of books in the library?
You can find a book by searching its shelf with location number. See also, what is location number?
What is location number?
Location number is given according to the subject of a book. It is written on book-back. Letters represents subjects in Library of Congress Classification System (LCC) used by Atilim University Library. For example; B: Philosophy, psychology and religion Q: Science, K: Law, H: Social Sciences, etc...
Each book is alphabetized left to right according to the first letter of its location number. Numbers are sorted left to right in ascending order.
What should I do, if I cannot find the book I search for?
You should check whether the book has been borrowed when you make catalog search. If you cannot still find it in its shelf, you may ask for help from relevant librarians.
Can I learn who has borrowed the source I search for?
Circulation information cannot be shared with third persons.
What should I do, if a book or article is not available in the library?
It is possible to borrow books or articles (if available) from other information centers by means of TUBESS, ILL services. This service is only provided to academic staff and postage belongs to users.
How can I benefit from Electronic Sources / Remote Access?
You can benefit from remote access by adjusting proxy settings through your web browser to use the databases and electronic journals of Atilim University Library.
What is Reserve Collection / Reserve book?
The sources which cannot be circulated for a long span of time and have been used as course books during academic period and recommended by instructors to be added to reserve collection.

Can I borrow reserve books?
In Atılım University Library, reserve books are provided for identity cards; (1) is lent to the user for a day. At the same time, no more than (2) two reserve books are lent.

You may consult with provision unit or information/circulation desk of Atilim University Library. (Only academic staff are allowed to add books to reserve collection.)
How can I benefit from reserve books?
 Reserve books are circulated after 4.00pm until the next day 11.00am. Users are allowed to borrow maximum two reserve books at a time. If a reader intends to borrow the same book again, the book must be returned to the library in the morning and reborrowed after 4.00pm with the same transactions. The fine for delayed reserve books is TL 5 per hour.
